This is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm a person's custody, arrange a release, post bond, or obtain an official booking record. Contact the appropriate public office directly for those matters.
Franklin County Sheriff
The Sheriff is the official starting point for a current county-custody question, booking record, jail docket, or booking photograph request. No separate records unit, request form, email address, office hours, or fee schedule was published on the Sheriff page. Jailers and dispatchers are described as on duty around the clock, but that does not mean written record requests are processed at every hour. Call first to confirm the current request method, delivery address, and any fee estimate.

For a written request, identify the person, approximate arrest date, arresting agency, booking number if known, and the specific jail-docket entry, booking record, or photograph sought. The county booking and custody reference explains the official records path and the limits of a phone lookup.
Court and State Custody
A jail booking is different from a court disposition or a state-prison record. Direct post-booking case questions to the court, and use MDOC for people in state custody rather than treating either office as the local jail.

The Circuit Clerk maintains criminal filings, judgments, and related records. MDOC maintains records for its custody layer; its main office is at 301 N. Lamar Street in Jackson and the main number is 601-359-5600. The official MDOC inmate search is for state custody. Public federal and immigration custody questions belong with the BOP locator or ICE locator, as applicable.
Where to Route a Question
Use the office that actually holds the record. The county has no verified online roster or recent-bookings feed, and the Franklin Advocate's weekly reports are not a custody database.
- For current Franklin County custody or a booking request, call the Sheriff.
- For a public adult court filing or later disposition, contact the Circuit Clerk or use PAMEC when available.
- For a state-sentence custody record, use MDOC.
- For a warrant confirmation, use the county warrant information and contact the Sheriff or issuing court.
- For questions about this private reference service, use the contact method provided through the site's normal support channel.
